He cries out to God for the wicked to be no more on the face of the earth. He will meditate on the LORD and enjoy sweet fellowship with Him. The Psalmist declares he will sing and praise the LORD as long as he lives. This reminds me of earthquakes and volcanoes. When He touches the mountains they smoke. The LORD rejoices over His wondrous works. God sends His spirit to create more life to replenish the earth. When He takes away our breath we die and return to the dust from which He created us.
God is the one who gives us breath to live.
Maybe He would do it to get our attention. Why would God turn His face away from us? Maybe He would do such a thing because we rebelled against Him and sinned. When the LORD hides His face from man he becomes afraid, and rightly so. They sell the rest of their catch to make a living. The fishermen gather from the sea what the LORD blesses them with to feed their families. The LORD gives the fishermen their reward in due time. The ships sail upon the sea and search for food. It’s simply amazing when you think of the vastness of God’s creation. Some of the creatures swim, some fly, some walk on four legs. Consider all the different shapes, sizes, and colors. Think about that for a minute - all the many creatures God created.

I love verse twenty-four, which says, “O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.” Then, the Psalmist goes on to talk about the vastness of the sea and all the creatures God created who live in the sea. Isn’t it amazing how God orchestrated everything to work together? God created the sun to light the day for man so he can work by day and rest at night. So, the beasts of the field can hunt for food until the sun rises, then they retreat to their dens.
He talks about how God created the moon for seasons and to shine its light at night. Do you enjoy looking at God’s creation and marvel at His wondrous works? The Psalmist says, “The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats and the rocks for the conies,” which are a type of rabbit. The Psalmist continues to share with us about the creation of the LORD.
